CalView provides your customer with instant access to their data over the Internet. It works with CalWorks to provide unlimited access to their data, calibration certificates, history, recall and past due information and status information. They can find out the progress of their instruments in the lab without making a phone call.

How does it work?

Each customer is given a User ID and a password, which will be linked, to only their information. No one outside of the lab can access their data. Their data is secure. After logging into the system, you will have access to manage your items or to run reports.

Seeing the item information

Upon selecting Manage – Items, they will be presented with a lookup box and can search for items by your number, the barcode number, the description of the item or by its serial number. After selecting the item that they want to see, they will see the information that the lab knows about their instrument: item ID number; serial number; barcode number; description; manufacturer; model number; range; possibly a picture of the item; the owner; department; the location of the item and its current status in the lab. At the bottom of the screen you will see a thumbnail of the last event that occurred on this item. You can then view all of the history for this item. The history look up box displays the work order number, certificate number, the received date and the finish date to find the one you want. After selecting the history event you want to see, the information includes: the type of event it was; date calibrated; the next due date; the environment surrounding the event; the procedure that was used on this item; the standard that was used; the readings that were taken; any notes that were attached to this event and more. Here you can also view and print the certificate for this item.

Running reports

There are four reports that are available to them. The Item Inventory report displays all of your items that the lab has ever touched with the last dates pertaining to the items and if it is currently in the lab. The Item Recall report allows them to select the date range on their items and includes next function type, due date and if it is currently in the lab. The Open Jobs report shows the items that are currently in the lab and their status right now. The Past Due report shows those items that are past their due dates and should be calibrated.

Access to information

CalView allows them to see the information when they want it. They no longer have to store certificates. The certificates are always available to them anytime they want them and print them if they need a hard copy. They have just thought of something on the weekend about an item. No need to fret. They have access to their information whenever or wherever they want it.

Licensing

CalView has no limitation to the number of users. You can provide access to as many users as you need. These users do not affect the CalWorks user licenses.
